Lip color for busy people!

As a busy, working mom, it's hard to stop what I'm doing & apply lipstick every time it wears off. In fact, I've nearly given up! Once the color wears off, I've pretty much resigned to not bothering to apply more for the rest of the day. It's super frustrating!

My favorite brands just haven't been holding up as well as I'd like. So, I tried something new. Let me tell you--- I'm totally obsessed with my new LipSense liquid lip color & gloss! The lip color (pomegranate) is absolutely gorgeous, and wears longer than any I've tried in the past. Since I'm always working, or busy with my children, this is a HUGE bonus! Plus, it's smudge proof, and can be worn lighter or darker based on your preference. The gloss (rose) is lightly tinted, and can be worn with the lip color, or on its own. When combined, the gloss gives the liquid lip color a super shiny quality, and really makes it pop! 

The liquid color application is quite different than I'm used to, as you apply 3 coats, starting from the corner of your mouth & waiting 5 seconds between coats. The 5 seconds between coats allows the color to adhere and dry. This is what allows for its smudge proof quality. You can apply as many or as few coats as you want, for lighter or deeper color saturation. The instructions recommend 3 coats, and I personally find that to be the perfect amount for a deep, rich color! It does have a slightly sticky feel when it's dry, but giving it a light coat of gloss easily remedies this. 

I've been continuously impressed with the rich color and longevity of this liquid lip color. It literally lasts all day! I can eat, drink, and talk for hours --- It does not smudge or wear off! Aside from being a busy mom & blogger, I also work outside of the home. To make all of my "jobs" coexist harmoniously, I work evenings at the airport. I stay very busy, and I have stories---- many, many stories. I've often debated posting some of the outlandish things that happen to me at work, but I'm thinking that might be in poor taste? Regardless, we've been exposed, whether we notice or not.

Personally, I've seen just about everything you can imagine. Lately, I've been seeing some pretty incredible hairstyles. Some that shock me, and others that make me seriously consider chopping my long locks. Don't you ever see someone with amazing hair, and think--- "Man, I wish my hair looked like that!" ? I do. All the time. In fact, I was discussing this with a good friend just last week, trying to get an honest opinion on whether or not I could pull off a look I'd recently seen. As it turns out, my friend thinks I totally could pull off a shorter style. However, she brought up something I'd never even given any thought to--- Wigs. 

Apparently, wigs are much bigger in beauty and fashion than I'd imagined. Think about it... With wigs, we can change our hairstyle daily if we want, and never have to cut our real hair. Brilliant! I'm not sure why I'd never thought about this before, but my friend opened my eyes to some incredible possibilities, and my brain hit the ground running.

Wear your favorite shoes all day...painlessly!

Everyone has that super cute pair of shoes they just had to buy, but later realized are super uncomfortable. You know, those ridiculously awesome pumps in your closet---- The ones you've worn exactly once, because they hurt like hell. Yes, those. Don't worry, I am also guilty as charged. AND I also know how much it sucks to see those shoes in the closet, tempting me to wear them. It truly would be so much better if they didn't leave my feet in a state of regret & sorrow after wearing them!

Yes, there are products available that offer relief while wearing those uncomfortable shoes, but they never seem to work like they're supposed to. Trust me, I've tried just about everything available. The most relief I've gotten so far, is from jamming cotton balls into the toes of my heels... Unfortunately, that doesn't work on peep toes... And the jelly inserts, those helped for precisely 10 minutes--- Then they just came unstuck and slid down and became more uncomfortable!

I've spent a lot of time trying to make my shoes tolerable, and finally found something that works perfectly. Every time!!!

I recently discovered a product called Sole Patches. They're kind of like those jelly inserts that stick in your shoes, but slightly different, AND they actually work! Sole Patches are a foam pad, but instead of sticking them to your shoe, you stick them to your foot! The adhesive on them is medical grade, so they don't slip & slide in your shoes. The crèmes are super thick, and a little really does go a long way! Both crèmes feature hyaluronic acid, which is amazing for hydrating cells. It locks in moisture, and helps to plump & firm skin, reducing wrinkles. They also contain vitamins that are essential for skin regeneration, and promote a healthy, younger looking complexion. Aloe is another key ingredient in these crèmes. Aloe works wonder for soothing dry skin, and also helps to heal & hydrate.

Loaded with a boost of green tea antioxidants, the Hydrating Day Crème is specially formulated to defend your skin against free radicals from the sun. Unfortunately, it does not contain any SPF. It's perfect for every day use, but I do recommend a good sunscreen if you're planning to be in the sun for extended periods of time.

I've been using these crèmes for a week, and have already noticed a HUGE difference! My skin is super soft, and feels so smooth now. Plus, the fine lines that were starting to develop after a long summer in the Florida sun, have completely disappeared! I will continue to use the crèmes though, as the fall and winter wreak havoc on my skin, making it super dry and itchy. These really are perfect, year round, moisturizers. They make my skin look & feel amazing, and aren't greasy at all!

Windows to your soul...

It is often said that your eyes are the windows to your soul, so why not frame those windows in perfection? Whether you touch up your brows, add a little color to your eye lids, or just wear mascara, L'Oreal has you covered!

My recent makeup finds:

I'm a huge fan of eye makeup, especially eye liner, eye shadow, and mascara. However, I'd never used any brow products, or eye lash primers before. These products hadn't even crossed my mind, but I'm beyond excited to have discovered them!

I never realized how light my eye brows were, until I tried L'Oreal Brow Stylist (Prep & shape). The kit comes with miniature tweezers, a mini spoolie brush and application brush, and the brow stylist products. The stylist products are a colored wax, and a colored brow powder. As an added bonus, the small compact that they come in has a mirror! This makes touch ups on the go super easy!!!

To use the L'Oreal Brow Stylist (Prep & shape), I simply followed the instructions on the package. (See below.) The results were astonishing! My brows looked fuller & darker. It took only a few minutes, and I was floored by the results!

1. Tweeze unwanted hairs, and brush your brows. 
2. Apply the wax in an upward motion, following your natural brow line. 
3. Apply the brow powder. Using the same motions as you did with the wax. The powder adds color, and fills in where you put the wax! 

After doing my eye brows, I used my L'Oreal Color Riche  Eye Shadow. I used an angled brush, and applied the lighter color first (200- Paris Beach). Starting at the inner corner of my eye lid, I worked my way up toward my eye brows. Then, I went back with the darker color (207- Pain Au Chocolat), and stopped at the crease of my eye lid. I finished with a fluffy brush, and blended in any harsh lines.

Then, I added dimension to my eyes with L'Oreal Infalliable Never Fail Eye liner. It's a thin mechanical eye liner, that twists up vs. sharpening. As an added bonus, it comes with a smudger!

To apply, I started with my bottom eye lid. Working my way from the inner corner out, I added the eye liner above the roots of my lashes. Then, I used the smudged, and worked the eye liner toward the roots. I did the exact same thing with my top eye lid, but went a little lighter.

I rounded out the look with L'Oreal Voluminous Primer & L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara. Since I'd never used a primer before, I was unsure of the outcome. Again, I was pleasantly surprised! My lashes looked longer, and much fuller after using the primer & mascara vs. just applying mascara.

I started with the primer, and applied it exactly how I would mascara. It left my lashes white, and I could easily fill in any spots I had missed. I let the primer dry a moment, and applied my mascara. Again, the primer is white, so I could tell if I had missed any spots. The mascara covered beautifully, and didn't run or streak at all! Plus--- my lashes looked 1000 times better!!!

Over all, I'm quite impressed with these products. They added some much needed definition to my eye brows & eye lashes. I especially love that I was able to achieve a more natural look, just more amped up. Even my husband noticed! He told me he'd never realized how thin my eye brows were before... #L'OrealMakeup to the rescue!
