Enjoy your spring break, indoors & out

Spring break is underway. Luckily, most of the country is experiencing beautiful weather, providing plenty of opportunity to head outside. For those of us who live near the beach, the nice weather is a calling card for playing hooky from work & enjoying an impromptu beach day! It's also a great time to hit up local splash pads, and parks.

When you're out enjoying the sunshine & fresh air, don't forget to bring plenty of toys and fun activities to keep the kids active! A great toy for outdoor activities can make or break a fun day. My choice for fun-in-the-sun toys right now are emoji beach balls. They're inexpensive, easy to inflate, come in large and small quantities, and emojis are super popular right now! Plus---- they're a lot of fun!

The emoji beach balls, by Kangaroo, are my top pick. They're well made, and my kids love the fun emojis! The bright yellow color makes them stand out at the pool & the beach, making them easier to spot when they get away from us. They're the perfect addition to a fun day in the sun!

For those non-emoji lovers, a great alternative are Knobby Balls, by Play Kreative. Knobby Balls are fun, inflatable balls with small nubs all over them. They come in packs of 10, and include a variety of bright colors. Knobby Balls are well suited for all ages, and can easily make outdoor play an amazing adventure! They bounce well, and float too! Plus, they're reasonably priced!

On those not so sunny days, you can still get your emoji on. Kangaroo also offers fun emoji stampers. They're available in bright colors, and make any indoor art project a whole lot more fun. Plus, they feature a variety of the silly- cute- and fantastic emoji faces that kids love!

The emoji stampers come in packs of 50, so there's plenty to share. Each package includes 10 different rubber stamps, with 5 different color inks. They're great for teachers, as well as party favors, or any indoor group activities. They're a lot of fun for kids of all ages, even those of us who are kids in our 30's!

A less messy way to make indoor play more creative, is to introduce pretend shopping, meal prep, and kitchen play. Plastic post, pans, dishes, and foods are a great way to let your youngsters explore their imagination. They can make outrageous meals, and "entertain" guests. It's also an awesome way to teach about healthy foods!

My daughter is obsessed with her play kitchen, and she spends a great deal of time creating culinary masterpieces with her friends. Our most recent addition to her vast empire of play produce and kitchen couture, is the Play Food Set with Pans, by Far Tree. This set is colorful, and chocked full of good eats!

Included in the set are various food items, pots & pans, and even some vibrantly colored dishes. While this set isn't my first pick, it is still a lot of fun. Plus, the pink plates are a HUGE hit with my tiny diva. The quality isn't too impressive, but for the price it's worth checking out!

Whether you're looking for indoor or outdoor activities, the key is to make sure that everyone is having fun. I'm planning to have my kids outside in the fresh air as much as possible. However, the weather forecast is calling for some rain... Thus, I'm trying to set up plenty versatile activities, that can be done both inside and outside.

My kids can be quite busy, so I need high energy ways to have fun. What's more fun than jumping on a trampoline?!? Mini trampolines can be an awesome outlet for energy, and a great source of exercise. Not to mention, they're tons of fun!

Kangaroo makes an awesome 36" trampoline. It's super easy to put together, and is remarkably durable. It says it holds up to 150 lbs, and I don't doubt that it does! My son is around 120 pounds, and he has no problems jumping on it. Of course, my 4 year old (who weighs 30 lbs.) is the one who usually spends the most time on the trampoline.

Overall, it's a heck of a lot of fun. It can be used inside or outside, and is a healthy way to have a good time! The 36" trampoline by Kangaroo even comes with a removable rail, for kids to hold on to while they jump. It is a bit more expensive than other toys, but it's definitely something that will last a long time!

These are just a few fun-filled ideas that my kids and I will be enjoying this upcoming week... No matter how you spend your spring break, make sure you have as much fun as possible!
